I am a fairly novice photographer myself, Darlene, so take my comments with a grain of salt. I think you have a location here with a lot of interest. For example, I like the tree on the right with the interesting curve. I also like the foreground rock--there appears to be a lot of interesting contours and textures.

But I think there are a few things that you can improve upon. First of all, although there are interesting elements in this composition I think there are just too many elements competing for attention. In other words the various elements do not come together cohesively. I think you would have more success with this if you were to simplify the composition and focus on just one or a few elements. The second thing that needs improvement is that the mid-day light is not helping here. If you could take this shot either late in the evening or early in the morning in better light it could add another dimension all together. These kinds of scenes are very difficult to photograph.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful. The best way to improve is to keep shooting. You can learn a lot from the photographers here-- by studying their work and reading comments from other's work.

Darlene, Interesting image, but I would like to have seen your techs on it. They help in providing more info to make comments on your images. Looks like you used a wide angle lens. Thanks for sharing.
