On Your Marks...

Thanks for the feedback on my last post. I had doubts about that image due to the circumstances that were effecting my state when I made that photo. So even though it seems the image was well received I did not think so as I was allowing my feelings to sway my own opinion.

After making that photo, I turned around to see these two big leaf maples basking in the warm reflected light off of El Capitan. What I liked was how the light dropped off very quickly into the forest behind them and the cool tones that appeared in contrast to the warm light in the foreground.

These trees were just getting starting to turn color, hence the title. A week later and I am sure they would have glowed all yellow.

4x5, 300mm f11 5 sec on Fuji Provia 100F.

Your thoughts, comments and critiques much appreciated.

Those leaves really stand out against the back ground Youssef. In the large view you really get a great sense of the tree's scale.Beautiful.Cheers

I really like the composition and the details and colors are great as is the standard for your landscapes. Very nice.

Beautiful image, Youssef. Great depth and color. I think I'd like to see a bit more of the base of the trunks of the foreground trees, but overall beautifully composed.

Beautiful image, Youssef. The trees seem to frame a doorway into the forest and it makes me want to wander in there to explore.

I like this one a lot, Youssef. Beautiful arrangement of the trees and the darkness behind just makes them glow.

Guy read my mind. I love the way the leaves appear to glow. To me, there's a bit of a 3D feel to this too. Wonderful!

Love the composition with the two trees bowing away from each other. The colors look perfect and mood is powerful. Well done!

That is a really interesting arrangement of trees and the reflected light gives them a wonderful glow. It looks like compression may be hurting the image quality here? It's too bad, as I'm sure there are some great details that would come out in a higher quality image.

Neat lighting. I really like the contrast between the dark forest and the leaves. Makes them almost glow.

Reminds me of sentinels. The height of the trees and darkness between the trunks make this very powerful.
