This may not be the best comp or photo, but shot in RAW and processed in PSE, first time ever. What a difference, maybe not in this image. Definitely in the one for M&N tomorrow.

Thanks for any C&C, larger posted.

I don't know what it is, but I like it. Is it some kind of frozen seaweed?

Bill,

Hey, you're a step ahead of me. I've never processed a RAW digital image before! Processing wise, the color and everything looks pretty darn good; although in the large version the patch of snow on the left clump of grass looks clipped. Snow is always tough.

I love the subject matter; just not sold on the arrangement/comp. It's one those times when you know something is in there but you just can't quite pull out a good comp. It's there somewhere... The combination of grasses, snow, ice and flowing water is a great combo - just don't know what to suggest to make a great image from this one.

It may not have striking color but I find the lines and patterns very interesting and enjoyable to explore.

Thank you folks for the comments. :toast:

I was on my way to a printer/framer's and was a bit early. So I just wandered a few miles out of the way, and found this neat little reservoir and dam (which is the larger photo for M&N). I stood on a small bridge over the runoff. LIke someone said, the grass intrigued me (I mean the stuff in the water!).

I don't know what it is. It made me think of a bunch of old blond wigs of different lengths stuck in this icy flow. Yes, the grass is bent mostly in the water's path, but I was above it, not in it. And I was ill equipped to try to get in it.

Lon, again 100%. There it was sitting there and I wasn't sure how to comp the darned thing. Even in processing and cropping. But I'm just glad I beat you to RAW anyway!!
