Another sunrise shot from Borax Hot Springs in the Alvord Desert of Oregon. The was taken the morning after the photo Cold/Hot Sunrise . It was amazing how much the lighting changed between the two mornings.

Nikon D7000, 12-24 Nikkor Dx, polarizer
5 sec at f/16, ISO 100

Dreamy scene. The textures and lines of the frosted grass in the lower right really make it.

Pretty neat scene Scott, with the mist/fog intensifying from right to left. :toast:

Wonderful crisp winter scene Scott. The mist adds to the wintery mood.

Gorgeous scene Scott, thoughtfully composed. I like all the lines going through the image, the diagonal of the river and the clouds and the detail of the grasses in the foreground. Well done! :toast:

I like the FG textures here, but the lighting and colors are awesome.

As much as I loved the foregrounding in your Cold/Hot post, overall I like this one better. I like that a little more of the sky is showing and that the barren area coming in from the left is diminished, softer, less distracting. The pastels in the sky and water reflections give a warmth to the image despite the snow, frost, ice, and mist. Very appealing image.

This is really nice, Scott. The mist and frost look great here, as does the color. Nice comp pulls this all together. I like it even better than Cold/Hot sunrise.

Both this image and Cold/Hot sunrise are beautiful and very cold looking. I like this one best, with its wider take on the scene. The water doesn't feel as tights as in the other image.

Thanks to everyone for all of the comments on this one. When I compare this image to Cold/Hot Sunrise, I feel Borax Sunrise is my favorite of the two. I really like the lighting on the clouds in this one and the wider view.
