Just a simple seascape with rocks and a sunset from a campground just north of Ventura, California.

Really I'm just board out of my mind waiting on the sky to open up for the lunar eclipse right now! C'mon! Kind of bummed, just got news California Photographer Don Gale passed away over the weekend. :frown:

This is excellent! Did I tell you that the detail, color, processing, focus, reflection/ tonality and composition are superb? The foreground elements are also killer. I won't even go into the shadow areas and whites. I think this is not only over the fence, it's out of the park! Congrats!

Excellent composition, but its the reflected light in the middle that really does it for me...Wonderful, Steve!

Steve, nice image and nice S pattern created with the rock. I knew Don pretty well and assisted him on a few workshops over the past couple years. It's a real bummer he was a great person, great teacher, and had a hell of a sense of humor, he'll be missed.

Thanks Gino, easy there you're going to make my head explode! FYI: At Wrigley field they have stands across the street on the roof tops. Imagine catching a homer out there!

Mohamed, thanks for checking. It is off .07 but I fixed it before by a lot more then that. Thanks.

Thanks Arild, Guy & Rich!

Todd, I never met him but he did leave some funny youtube videos behind. That's how I came across his humor and his California landscape was excellent too!

Steve, I like the moodyiness and simple beauty. The details are fantastic. It's been raining for 5 days here in Dana Point, nice job getting a sunset. Excellent work!

Fantastic color and composition with the curve of the rocks and setting sun in the distance. I think the shutter speed selection was perfect to give this a nice, serene mood as well.

Great use of the shapes in the foreground. The midground is often an area of weakness in seascapes but the reflected light here is just gorgeous.

Awesome seascape/sunset Steve. Couldn't ask for a better comp or balance. I love the reflected color right in the center of the image.

Say, what are those three specs on the horizon? Oil rigs? ships in the night?

Ya it was snowing like a hockey stick by me, no visual of eclipse. Oh well, at least I can enjoy a nice seascape by Steve Sieren.

Love the colorful swirl mid stream.

Lon, ha ha! I didn't even notice those giant steal sea stacks! Might have to move this one over to man and nature.
