We're still suffering with some freezing temperatures at the moment but it is giving some great photo oppertunities. It was aprox minus 10C when I shot this. I know some of you are used to temps like this but it is very unusual to have such a prolonged period of cold weather in the North West of England.

All comments are welcome and thanks for looking.

Gary, at least you never had to fly out of Heathrow airport(or did you). The big news here on the CBC was about the the problems they had for like a week. Great framing on the picture. I really like the warm light through the trees. I could see bringing up the brightness a touch but that could just be my monitor. I do love these types of conditions to photograph in. Great Photo. Cheers

Fantastic gnarled trees complemented well by the straight trunks in the misty background. We're having an unusually cold and snowy winter where I live, too. Makes for some great photography!

Cheers Raymond and Lori, no airport problems for me. I've just brightened it a touch.

Thanks, Gary.

I like the conditions you captured here, Gary. This has a very nice feel with the soft light and all the frost. Very interesting trees and a nice comp. I really like the one further back.

Fantastic. You're really taking advantage of the cold spell. I really like the shapes of the trees and the frosting of hoarfrost. The warm colors in the background are very appealing too.

The icy branches and the warm tones make a wonderful combination.

Gary,

I really like the design of this - the natural flow and patterns of the branches and then also repeated between the two main trees. The frosting/snow is literally icing on the cake... what really tops this off for me is the soft, warm glow in the background. The warm colors with the obviously cold conditions works quite nicely. A wonderful capture.

I think this works really well, the dark, twisted branches make for a wonderful contrast against the frigid and overcast conditions. Beautiful!
