Lusk Creek, Kananaskis

I was out shooting on the morning of Dec 24th and was rewarded first with nice pink skies, then by finding this little scene. This creek is tiny, but has a magical glowing blue green colour about it. I was intrigued by the way this little tree/shrub was trapped in the ice as the reflection of larger trees on the bank seem to punctuate this little guys struggle for survival. I know this is a little different, so I'm curious to see if it goes unnoticed, or if people find it as intriguing as I do. Thanks for looking!

I think this is pretty darn neat Wayne. I like your composition too. Love the bluish reflection on top.

I like the composition and the ice-blue wintry feel.

I really like this. The twig repeating the reflection of the trees in the ice works well for me.

Wayne,

This is very intriguing - perhaps even perplexing! You say these little guys are trapped in ice? Looks like a milky, translucent something or other... I sure wouldn't have guessed this was ice. Ice up top too for the reflection? Simple, intriguing and very, very effective. Can't say it will be a big hit, but I certainly like this very much.

Great eye and excellent job capturing this one.

Good eye for the unusual comp. Thought this was going to be fog from the thumb. Nice surprise.

Lon,
You are correct, this is all ice. It is a small creek and the trees being reflected are just out of frame on the river bank. The colour in the image is exactly as I remember it - very odd I know! Thanks for the comment!
