Boxing Day 2010

Spent the day after Christmas out in the cold, overcast and blustery morning air. This is the stream leading up to the frozen waterfall I posted earlier (and will repost later). Just liked the wintry feel, and especially the old stone walls. D80, larger posted, C&C welcomed.

Really nice. I like this composition, with the stone walls on the right at the slight diagonal and the non-snow-covered parts of the stream changing so much. I think the oranges and greens against the whites and browns work really well.

This looks like a wonderful place Bill, and you captured it so well. Love places like this. I will take you to the Mill and you can take me here! Have a great new year, Bill.

Bill:
There is something special about snow covered ground which tend to convey solitude and stillness. Love the contrasting brown of the leaves and the stone wall. :toast:

It even feels cold to a Minnesotan. I like the wall and the muted red color tones against the snow.

I think this scene works well with the snow cover. Mainly, all the layers and contours on the right seem to stand out more than I'd suspect given the contrast in the browns and whites. Looks like a place with a lot of potential throughout the year!
