A Gentle Drop

From the fall on a day I was playing with some longer exposures, I cropped this down quite a bit, some obvious noise throughout still despite my best attempts. Thoughts and comments welcomed!! D60, ISO-100, 8 seconds, CPL, 48mm. Once again I post next to Guy!! Lol. :toast:

I like your composition, Bill. I suggest a little more contrast (push in the white point a bit).

Thanks Guy, always appreciate your help. I'll try later on and repost when I get the chance.

Nice cascade Bill. I might crop just a tad off the right, not much at all.

I think the solid rocks on the right lead to those so clearly under the water and really give the waterfall a great foundation. I can feel the water rushing over them.

Nice cascade and i like the long exposure, Bill. I agree with Guy--push the white point a bit, maybe while masking the rocks.

A small adjustment from Guy's advice.

I agree, nice composition! The repost is better too, it has more pop. It also intensified some cyan and majenta streaks in some of the white water though too. Not a big deal, but there if wanted to try and adjust it. I might also clone the one bright spot on the upper right edge.

That's OK Bill, I don't even bother to look at Guy's stuff anymore; he gets so many views and comments, I figure he doesn't need mine!!
I really like the overall effect of this. The smooth flow in the BG contrasts so much with those clear little stream of water in the front. Cool. Why do you think there is any noise in this? It's ISO 100, so it doesn't seem like it's from that. Do you think it's just because you cropped it so much? The non-watery parts of the rock seem a tiny bit blurred; if that was sharper I think it'd help. Anyway, I still like it.
