I love the symmetry, texture, and bold colors of the top of this cactus. I enhanced the grain/splotchy appearance when seen magnified. Don't ask me why. It just looked best on my screen! I could have lightened /brightened , but I liked the dark, menacing look shown here.

Very cool, Lucy--I love the red-green contrast and the pattern (more so than texture :wink: ) is incredible--looks like a kaleidoscope :toast:
I was going to give the mushroom a Weekly Pick, but since you insisted it has been vaporized. :wink:

I would not beat myself up over the Mushroom. I think many of us have posted something that we saw the beauty in that was not well recieved. I always look forword to your postings.

I too like the "Do not mess with me look" you have captured here.
