WC #464 - Rainbow colors

This image to start the new year challenge.
The Chihuahuan Greater Earless Lizards tipically use the highest perch at hand and when it's hot the body is held high on outstratched legs with toes lifted.
I think this lizard would tell me: "do not you think I have the colors of the rainbow?"

Great post! I sorted through my Pidgeon images to get something like this but was not happy.
I think you got all of them! Plus you got the super head turn.

Well, this is one interesting specimen. He is very erect. And those huge hind feet, does this guy run like a biped? How big was this guy? and those neck flaps, do they do anything? Looks like he has great colors for attracting a hawk. I wonder whether this species can change colors like a chameleon. He has a pattern like a collared lizard, but at the wrong end! Oh yeah, great shot.

- How big was this guy? - about 80 mm.
- and those neck flaps, do they do anything? - No.
- I wonder whether this species can change colors like a chameleon. - No colors changing.

I overlooked this before, but I'm glad I found it now. You and the lizard make a sensational team, with wonderful colors, pose, and detail.

Thanks for your nice comment on my rainbow collage, too. Rainbows have made a fine Weekly Challenge subject, with more variety than one might anticipate. I've been whistling "Somewher Over the Rainbow" all week.
