This was taken while hiking at Table Rock State Park in South Carolina in late December.

Canon 7D with tripod, Manual exposure, 3.2 sec, F16, ISO 100, Polarizer, RAW conversion and sharpened.

I love the look of the icicles in this one, John. The composition is very attractive too. The vertical lines in the background give it an unearthly look. A nit is that the snow on the ground is mostly so white and featureless. I find snow is so tough to photograph. Anyway, that's just a nit. I really like the overall comp.

I really like the comp, with the icicles in sharp focus and the wispy falls behind. The log and rock add some warmth to the scene. Cool find

The brightness of the ice/snow in the FG is a little distracting but that might be easily fixed in processing.

This one is a delight to study. Has a ton of immediate impact and a lot of lasting value too due to the smaller details that have been incorporated into the composition.

Unusual image and a unique perspective John.
I especially like the icicles in sharp focus that contrast the misty water behind..
This is one that makes you want to stay awhile
