Clam Shell

My two children and I had headed out to the beach early in the morning to build sand castles when I found this little guy resting in a tidal pool. The sun was still low in the sky leaving this clam with a lovely golden colouring and the tidal pool black with little reflections other than that of the clam shell.

300mm lens , hand held at f13 ,1/250 ,ISO 100, with polarizer. Proped my arms in the sand to make a DIY tri-pod. A little messy but it helped.

I thought this was extra-terrestrial too. The reflection adds a lot to the image.

Nice job "seeing" and capturing this shot. Very interesting and pleasing composition and good detail on the shell.
