I got a chance to go out for a walk last night along the snow encrusted shores of Lake Huron. I found these needle grasses waiting to be photographed. I really like the delicate and intertwined nature of the reeds. I got lucky and had some nice complementary light.

One exposure double processed for the treeline. Tk's masks with dodging and burning. Canon 5D 17mm f16 .6sec iso100. Any and all thought on processing or comp. will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance and check out the large version for better details.

I like the arched grasses Raymond but I really find the mix of pink sky and cold blue sky appealing.

I like the arched grasses as well, Raymond, and you had a wonderful sunset as well. My only suggestion is that I wonder if you could have focused the composition even more on the grasses by choosing a patch that filled the left corner as well.

I like the texture in the foreground and the pastel colors in of the sky, really a serene mood. Somehow I think of cropping the sky a little bit, maybe it could help concentrate on the delicate grasses.

A very elegant composition - it works well. It portrays a beautiful winter evening.

Fascinating subject and wonderful light. I agree with Floris that the left side of the frame feels a bit empty in the foreground.

Lovely shot. I really like the texture in the foreground snow, and the pastels in the sky.

I like the scene. Could see a bit more sat and darkening of the sky.
