Although I like the grass coming from the lrc as it leads the eye straight to the main subject, which is very elegant, I feel it detracts a little bit from the simplicity of the scene. The sky is glorious and really makes the image (it seems that you have two dust spots right in the center of it). Beautiful, Sandy!

Beautiful Sandy, love the pastel colors. Very strong composition, May I suggest cloning out the twig in the lower RHC and clean up of two spots in the clouds. One of your best, nice work.

Sandy:
This is a very sweet image. IMHO, if you crop above that one piece of grass, you'll have yourself a 100% winner.

Sorry, missed the repost. I still think there's too much FG. I like it with just a ribbon of sand, and let the sky & plant be the main focus.

To crop or not to crop...that is the question..
I think this is about as far as I'm willing to crop - I love the SAND and want enough left in the image.
Thoughts?

Compositionally it's close to brilliant. The disconnect between the grass and shrub is killer...I'm finding that f8 leaves the bg too soft whereas we dont have bokeh but it's not sharp either..tough middleground. Also feel the bush is too tight on the left side. Seeing that 'connection' though is stellar.

I like the crop version alot. I was thinking about that too, but didn't mention it. Glad that Gary did. I think it looks good the way you have it now.

The re-re-post does it for me! I like the warm tones here. Seems like I see a lot of 'blue' images from here, I like the change of pace.

It has improved with each repost, and it's a very nice shot overall. I can't tell if it's just a web sharpening issue or if perhaps it's the result of using f/8, but the background seems soft. Even the foreground seems like it could use a bit more sharpening. That said, assuming the original is sharp from front to back, you've got a real winner here.

Love the pastel colours Sandy. I don't mind the grass as it leads the eye towards the Yucca. All versions work well, the colours are what makes the image for me. Very nice.

Beautiful light and the signature white sand is very appealing. My only recommendation would have been to use a smaller aperture and lower ISO so the background will appears a bit more detailed, especially if the intent is to print it.

Beautiiful pallette Sandy. I like the cloned and uncropped version best for my tastes. The pastels just draw me in.
