Cheetah in the rain

Happy New Year all,

This is an image that I think will look better as a print. Looking at the low res image here it looses a lot of detail, especially in the background where the rain detail gets a little lost.

It was chucking it down at times but I was determined to continue to photograph rather than return to the camp.

Canon 1DMK4, 500mm, 1/125, f4, ISO400

Lovely picture, the rain really adds to the atmosphere. The bigger photo is very nice. I must say though I think the one of two cheetahs in the rain on your website is even better

Certainly has atmosphere Austin, did you ever see sun on that trip? LOL

Have the eyes been selectively 'tweaked', as the look quite bright compared to the overcast setting, thought they might be darker and not so vibrant? Personally would also even up the top LHC.

Great shot! I think being able to see the rain is an asset. This looks like an unhappy WET cat, but it sure is beautiful. To me, it's one of the more appealing shots of a cheetah I've seen.

Nothing looks more fed up than a wet cat. That's a fine image of one though.
