Greeting the Morning

This photograph was taken during the past summer at Great Falls Park, VA. The Canada Goose stood quietly as the waters of the Potomac River rushed by. This was just after sunrise with some nice steam rising from the water in the background. I've played around with the processing for awhile now and would appreciate any recommendations.

Hi Mike! This early morning light and mist create a great mood to this shot. I don't have any pp suggestions. I like it as is.

Just love the mood and tonality in the frame. Patterns of rocks in the foreground is simply fantastic! Awesome image.

Nice mood, love the light and details. The goose looks almost out of place but it's very cool. :toast: :toast:

Knowing that's a Canada Goose sure puts some sense of scale to the scene. Something about the edges of the rocks seems a little harsh to me. With all the steam, perhaps I'm expecting the image to look a little more.... blended, if that's the right word. It's a lovely scene; having the bird there is great.

I like the processing quite well. Good textures and contrast throughout the frame. Compositionally, I could see cropping about half the background to put more emphasis on the water and rocks.

Beautiful image Mike. Processing looks fine to me. I love the steam rising up and the goose really makes the image. If I had any recommedations, I might try croppping a little off the right side, but that's really minor.
