Another image of a foggy forest taken close to sunset in Sequoia National Park during a 6 day backpacking trip this past September.

All comments and critiques greatly appreciated.

Beautiful and peaceful image Michael. I love the separation you achieved in your comp.

A fine image. Something about that rock anchor I like a lot.

Michael,

Not withstanding the dirt patch/partial path in the LRC, I find the composition very inviting. As mentioned already, with the rock providing a nice anchor and enough spacing of the middle trees to let the fog create some mood and an open and pleasing composition.

Not sure what to suggest about the right side - probably just leave it as is because I don't think a partial or complete crop would make this stronger - perhaps, but not sure.

Love the cool, misty mood here.

Michael - Fantastic mood in this one. The path/ trail mentioned on the right breaks up the comp a bit for me. Also ULC has a bit of branch creepinging into the image. Not sure if you are opposed to cloning the small area out - looks like it would be difficult to crop out. :toast:

Outstanding image, Michael. Love the varying luminosity of the trees and how the trees melt into the distance.

Nice. I really like the two darker, framing trunks on the sides.

Very moody scene, the path in the LRC is a minor nit for me. Nevertheless, a fine image. :toast:

Neat mysterious image from the Sequoia. I don't mind the path showing a little on the right. I really like the mood set here by the fog, and the little sappling peaking through the gap on the left.

This is very calm and peaceful. My only nit is that I'm picking up some greens in the deep shadows of the bark. I thought it was an optical illusion, but then I covered up everything on my monitor except the tree on the left. Upon doing this, the green shadow tones became a bit more apparent.

Thanks everyone and especially Lon for not moving this shot to M v N. I didn't think the path would be noticed. It personally doesn't both me, that's the High Sierra Trail close to Crescent Meadow. Ben- thanks for your observant comment. I tried to neutralize the shadows as much as possible. I'll look into it a little more. Stan/Jeremy - I will experiment with the crop suggestion.

Slight alterations to repost: crop, clone out left tree branch, slight neutralization of color cast. :wavey:

I like spacial composition of the tree trunks. The rock provides balance to the frame.
