Tricolored Heron from Brazos Bend State Park near Houston. I caught this guy up in a dead tree - I love the almost graphic feel to the image plus the rich colors in the neck.

I love the heron's face. In the larger version the detail is staggering. Seems to be staring off in the far blue yonder. I really like the simplicity of the bird, the limb, and the blue. Glad he didn't decide to stand closer to the end of the perch.

Fine feather detail in the large version.
Nice colors and a very interesting perch.
I'd perhaps shave a bit off the right.

Nice capture of this heron Randy. I actually like the use of space on this one and how he seems to be looking into the sky waiting for something.
