1st Action shot
by Dan Moore
I had not had my prosumer Panasonic long when I decided to take some shots in a local junkyard. Urban decay was not a term known to me then. While I was trying to figure a composition involving an old school bus I looked down at the, fierce looking, "Junkyard Dog". From out of the darkness under the bus came this cat and rubbed up under the dogs chin - as cats are inclined to do. By the time it made its second pass up the chin I was ready --or so I thought. My camera autofocused on the fence and the target was OOF.
It was at this time that I decided that this was the kind of photography that I wanted to concentrate on --Natural action.
Not a very good photo but I will always keep it and visit it on occasion.I hope you enjoy it for what it is.
Dan
PS --I was thinking that there would be many more postings in this great WC!!!!

3 commentsThe experience that you will carry forward from this capture will forever be with you. Yeah, technically the camera did what it did and focused on the fence.... but more importantly, you've captured a story and I think "Junkyard dog" is perfect. Lot's of connotations can accompany this - good, bad and sad... Thanks for joining in.
