Rabbit Valley

My husband went trail running in the Rabbit Valley area west of Grand Junction the other day and even took our P&S camera with him. When he got home and showed me the pictures he took, I was amazed and of course decided I needed to see it myself. The hike really kicked my a**, especially at the top where the trail hadn't been packed down, but WOW! What views!

The La Sal Mountains are visible on the horizon.

Fantastic view Angela! There is something about desert views with snow that I just love.

This picture really conveys the feeling of a vast rugged untouched widerness

Angela, I admire your shot of this unique scenery; especially I like the way we are led from the foreground continuously trough the whole picture. I could imagine to crop the sky until to a small strip above the horizon, that might stress the texture of the landscape even more. Anyway it is fantastic!

Angela,

Only been to Grand Junction once, at that time I was into old cars and visited the wrecking yard down by the viaduct. Now as a photographer I see there's allot more to the area than just antique cars, some abandoned in the fields like the ones we hauled out of Delta. What a beautiful vista ,in the fg it appears one of the the locals was there earlier appreciating the view too.

I've camped in the RV (Rabbit Valley, that is) but never got to this overlook. Looks great all covered in frosting.
