Some folks have questioned as to whether my posing raccoon was real or stuffed; assuredly- she was the real live deal! I imaged this little 'gray apparition' with a Canon FTB 35mm and Soligor telephoto lens. Crystal moments with wildlife are always treasured.

Great pose and I think the wider view works really well with the lit-up golden background (though some might argue that the white line and sun at the top are distracting... an optional crop perhaps?).

Hi Jeff,

Oh, doesn't look stuffed to me (but if I find out it was, I'd be a little embarrassed by this comment!). The thing I like the most about the shot are how the racoon is hanging its paws down - cute! Just a procedural comment here - on vertical compositions it's fine to go to the maximum allowable dimensions (720 pixels) on the vertical side (if you want - no requirement to do it, of course!).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Haha, really! Well if you would say it is stuffed I would believe you too, but to assume that from this image strikes me as a bit surprising. I quite like this, moreover how you handled the difficult back lighting with plenty light and detail on the subject. I don't find the sun distracting at all! :toast:

Very cute pose, Jeff! I love the warm greens too. Personally, I prefer a crop off the top without the sun.

Very pretty picture, Jeff, but would agree about cropping out the sun. :toast:

Good capture, Jeff. I think it will have more direct appeal if you crop the bright band at the top. Pose is excellent.

I see that you are pretty new to NPN. Please take a little time to add a couple of reactions to the postings of others. As a critique gallery, I suspect that one of the ways to get the most feedback is to freely offer feedback to others! The benefits are enormous, as the careful looking at the work of others sharpens one's own eye in the field!
