This image was made at Johnson Lake, near Banff, Alberta in October 2006. Canon EOS 20D; 1/125 @ f/5,0; 50mm; 28-135 f/3.5-5.6; ISO 100; handheld. I liked the comp but the image was somewhat drab and soft at the edges. I did some extensive work with adjustment layers and blends, as well as a Kevin Kubota landscape action. The result is this impressionistic image. Thanks, in advance, for your feedback and criticism.

Very interesting and appealing shot, Craig. I might like the pines to be a bit brighter, but the darkness does really make the aspens pop.

Craig:
Beautiful work. The aspen really pops with the dark bg. The larger version really sings. There tree and reflection may not be perfectly plumb and may need a very small ccw rotation?
