This is from June of last year when I took a brief early summer trip down to the Blue Ridge. After sunset, I really enjoyed hiking by moonlight through the rhododendron tunnels up to the next bald to set up camp. I'm not sure why, it was just one of those feel-good experiences that has kind of stuck itself in my brain.

Also, I had a bit of a tricky time with processing, having blended three images for this. Let me know what you think.

C&C welcome and appreciated as always.

Thanks for looking!

Some fantastic light here, and I like how the fg leads you into the image! Great scene and well captured!

Lovely, Alex! As previously mentioned the light is beautiful, and
and the lead in lines work well. The FG splash of color in the
rhododendron adds that little extra something. Well done, Alex,
and thanks for sharing.

Alex, a very interesting scene and well processed too. I like the bright right hand hillside of the image in contrast to the darker and foggy left hand hillside. Very nicely done.

Sweet shot! the fg rocks and light on the rocks is fantastic. Processing looks good to me - the only minor thing i see or might see is on the slope on the right hand side - almost like some flare was cloned out there, but I could be completely wrong.

Excellent shot from the Roan highlands.

Maybe a little too dark at the bottom, but anyway the comp is excellent. I like the strong difference between orange clouds on the right and gray ones on the left.

This is awesome, Alex! The leading lines, the Rhodie, the light.. just fantastic. Looks like a tough one to process indeed, but I think it turned out well. I just wish the Rhodie were bigger!

Fantastic Image Alex. If you could bring out or blend in just a little bit of detail in that very dark portion on the bottom it would make it that much better. :toast:

`Hey Alex, I see you made it up to my rocks! Beautiful and I love that sky!!! If you'd only caught at great bloom you would have been set. You've got to give me a yell if you ever make it back down to the BR. I'm only about 45 minutes away the Roan. :toast:

This is Some fantastic light, Alex. Loved that brilliant sky and the warm light reflected off the rock in FG. Especially loved that golden haze on the green mountains.

Dramatic image Alex. I really like it. I could see trying to lighten the upper left corner of the sky just a hair. Jeremy's suggestion about the bringing up the shadows in the fg rocks is a good one too!

Great light and comp here Alex. I agree about the shadows in the FG rock, if there was a touch more light and texture here to bring the viewer in, this would be much stronger IMO. That warm light evokes a very strong emotion from me and really puts me (the viewer) in this image, nicely done (and nice blend)

Fantastic, Alex. The light is tremendous, as is your composition. The central placement of those flowers works very well, almost like a bouquet. Beautiful work.
