Watching The Sun Set
by Dottie Short
Almost every day that I visit my local lake in Nassau Bay Texas this egret is there posing for me. The sun was low on the horizon, and gave a nice gold and blue pattern on the water. Comments welcomed.

I've looked at this several times since you posted it before I could form my thoughts about it, not unusual for me at times.
I love the beautiful warm golds reflected on the cool blue water, the simple but elegant post of the egret, head angle and the nice light on the bird.
I find myself wishing I could see the feet here to complete the elegant lines of the egret. I see in the exif for this file you didn't use any exposure compensation when this was created, although all of the whites are below 255 in a threshold layer there are some on the chest and shoulder that look like they may have been hot on the original file before post processing. I might have tried -0.3 EV to help with those. It is still an appealing image to me, just some a suggestion for future adventures in the field.
