Chilly Rose

This is the time of year I experiment with freezing flowers. Placed this rose in container of water and left in garage where it partially froze overnight. Removed from container and actually took the photo in the garage using led flashlight to illuminate. Nothing fancy, but I like the result.

Richard:
This is really creative. Before I read your notes, I thought you have applied some kind of filter. The lighting is somewhat similar to a scanner in that it drops off rather quickly but unlike the scanner, you have more control with the intensity and direction. Like the gloss effect on the surface. Love to see more of these if you do them.

What an interesting idea! I thought it was a filter, too. This so creative! The rose was preserved so well with the gentle curves in the petals. I think I could put this outside here, also, and it'd freeze in minutes (currently -6 at 6pm :frown: ).

Richard,

Very neat and also very beautiful. I certainly look forward to seeing more of these if you do them. I admire the creativity.

Richard: What a great idea and fine execution. The only small 1¢ nit I have is the fairly large bubble on the right side. I might be tempted to make it go away but the treatment of the rose itself is fabulous. Many kudos. >=))> :toast:

Thanks Gary, Anne, Pat and Bill. Yeah Bill, I debated whether to take the bubble out , also.
In the end, I decided it is what it is and left it in. Thanks again for the kind comments.

Very creative Richard. My minor suggestion would be to clone out the big bubble. Just a thought. Nice work. :toast:
