Wow, cool bird I've never heard of or seen. You must still be drying off your equipment from the this low of an angle. Great work.

You can even see his pink ears! Lovely shot of a duck we don't often see posted here. Sharon

Love that low angle and this species. I would only suggest sharpening the eye area a bit more. :toast:

Hecku'va interesting bird Simon and I love that low angle. Great eye contact and I enjoy the feeding behavior. I agree about the slight softness of the eye. Always nice to see "larger photos" like this that really are significantly larger than the 720 to allow for more effective image evaluation!

What an "odd duck". A little tight but that's the only complaint.

Incredible! Never heard of this species, but it looks awesome. I'm guessing that most people will never get this good a look at one. I'm trying to picture your gear and what you looked like while making this image. Sounds like you went the extra mile and it really paid off. :toast:

Never heard of one; never seen one. So, thanks for posting this wonderful image. The marking around the eye is so distinctive. Love the water around the bill. What a beautiful duck.

That is some duck, very interesting patterns I like the low perspective and color variation in the water leading up to the duck, well done.

Love the great low angle you were able to achieve Simon, the water is very appealing to me, as is the eye contact, bill in the water and natural colors. I might allow for more room on the right side of the frame if you have it, but that is just my personal taste in comp. A fine image as presented.
