Refraction
by Tony Kuyper
This is an image from Buckskin Gulch. It reminded me of those windows you look through that sort of distort what's behind the faceted glass.
For me, Buckskin is one of those enigmatic places that is a feast for the eyes, but difficult to photograph. It's so deep that June is the best month to Photograph here to get a decent amount of light into the canyon for reflected glow. Additionally, it also tends to be drier this time of year with less wading required to traverse the upper parts on a day hike.
This image was taken as I was turning around to head back in early afternoon. The camera was pointed upstream, which accounts for the slightly more jagged edges.
Your thoughts and recommendations on this image would, as always, be considered and appreciated.

As soon as I saw this picture I assumed it was a picture of tony Kuyper
Color, texture and composition are fantastic,
I've seen several of his photos and they're spectacular
This is phenomenal. The only thing I can say that is more impressive than your rock/sandstone work, is your mastery of the image itself and your processing. the colors are striking, yet subdued. The shadow detail revealing, yet provides wonderful contrast to the scene. This one blows me away!
I won't say anymore, but it's tempting...

I've seen a lot of slot canyon images. This is unique. I like the lines,
tones, colors, and light.
Form....light....and texture......all come together. Sweet!
