Double Yellow

The Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) is one of the first plants to flower. It is not yet so far here in the Netherlands, this image is from last year. I always love to see them coming out of the ground with their bare stems. The leaves appear only after the flowers are gone.

Thanks for this one Ellen. I can use the sunshine. Love the mood and it's a striking image. Excellent bg separation as well. No suggestions.

Terrific detail. The light looks like it may have been a little harsh and you did a good job controlling it. My only suggestion would be to tone down the brighter areas in the background just a bit.

I like your composition and separation of the main elements. I can see what the others are saying about the bright spots in the BG, but I personally like them because they add to the bright spring-like atmosphere.

This is delightful and puts a smile on my face on this dreary winter day  I love the colors and I think the bg is just right. Nice lighting and I like the centered pov.

Ellen:
Nicely exposed flowers with good bg separation. Good details in both flowers especially in the larger version. I have no issue with the bg lighting.

Ellen: I didn't expect to like this all that much from the thumbnail but I stand corrected. Excellent management of the yellow and superb DOF control. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Beautiful capture. Love the color and bg. Very similar to our dandelions which appear in the spring. Can't wait for ours... :toast:

Lovely flowers & well composed shot Ellen, I think u've done very good in controlling the harsh lights on the yellows which is always tricky :wavey:
