I was hiking in Slovak Tatra Mountains when suddenly saw this view. Together with the reflection of BG tops I noticed some underwater plants, clearly visible through thin water layer. I set up my camera, switch to wide angle lens and put PL filter but just before checking composition through viewfinder I realized, that PL would have destroyed reflection or those green grass in water... Fortunately I was able to choose such PL adjust that all features are nice visible.

Could you believe that this lake is only half an hour hiking from very crowded areas?

Please, enjoy larger version.

Any C/C are welcome, especially about composition.

Slovak Tatra, Rohac Small Lake, 1653 masl.

Nikon D200 with Nikkor 12-24@14mm, f14, ss 1/8, ISO 100, PL, tripod. Cropped from standard Nikon size.

I like the composition, Igor. The submerged grasses and topside rocks/grasses make for a nice foreground, leading to the fantastic reflection and background peaks.

Color-wise, I do think the saturation has been increased much too far. The blues and greens are blown out and gives the image a posterized effect.

This is really a beautiful view Igor. Very well seen and composed. I do agree with Jason though that the overall saturation needs to be toned down a fair bit. With somewhat more natural saturation levels this could really be an outstanding image.

Nice composition. The blues come through very strong on the laptop, but it works very nicely in this image.

I echo Jasons thought exactly and I believe the photo is worth the extra attention to get looking as good as possible.Cheers

Igor,

I must agree with the others. You have a beautiful "reflectionscape" that is in need of some color adjustments. I don't know if it's just saturation either, but the blue throughout is rather odd to me and something doesn't look right. Actually, the greens don't look that far off to me and the grass and rock at the bottom are fine color-wise (a little bright perhaps.)

Definitely worth working on as this is a lovely scene and reflection.

This is a beautiful landscape view. I like this comp and the reflections are really nice. I too agree with the others on the color, and as Lon said, especially the blue. I do think the green needs some attention too. As others mentioned, well worth working on this because it is a beautiful scene.
