Great Crested Grebe

I was pleased to see this Great Crested Grebe today, back at a local pond where they bred successfully last year.

I don't imagine that this will be to everyones taste. On a still day the water can be quite a pleasing brown shade. Today it was even darker, so I underexposed to enhance the effect.

HERE is one of two grebes at the same location last year, but with the brown water background.

C&C welcome.

Canon 1DMK4, 800mm, f5.6, 1/1600, ISO800

Cheers

Austin

Austin

This is a great example of an image enhanced by a dark background.

This is lovely Austin. A great example of how a centraly placed subject can work. My only nit would be that it appears a tad 'cold' and I think if it were mine (huh, I wish!) I would try one a touch warmer just to see if it might work.
