Another Short Eared Owl

Another one of the short eared owl I had the pleasure to see and photograph. I had to keep reminding myself this was a wild bird he just didn t seem to mind being photographed at all, didn t have to hide just stood there right by him it was amazing. Because of the landscape crop on this one I have cloned out the bit of the top wire, I think with a portrait crop it looks like some wire should be there so I have a mixture.

Lovely shot Karen, I love the soft warm light and those intese yellow eyes. Excellent detail, especially for such a slow shutter speed.

Wonderful short-eared owl image Karen. The lighting and detail are very lovely. I just observed this species for the first time last week and they are indeed extraordinary. Thanks for sharing this absolute beauty. :toast: :toast:

I like this a lot Karen - especially the off-kilter pose on the post which gives a good look at the tail, the light and that wonderful background which your composition shows off.
