Living in the flattest country on earth usuallly makes me look for the nearest elevator when having to climb a hill, especially when this is before sunrise. 'Sadly' there was no elevator at the Old Man of Storr, so manual labour was in order. Luckily we where rewared by a great view when arriving at the top!

A horizontal version with some human elements in the image can be found here: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=166489&CGISESSID=daa8a1ec6a9ab9557ab10b1ea24b852f&u=7118

One has to love these rocks - they never cease to amaze me. The comp is fine and the falloff into the mist creates some nice depth here. I only wonder, why the top of the sky is so much more saturated and looks quite more magenta than the rest. In that regard I might merge the top and the lower scene a little more together so that the change doesn't feel that abrupt.

Lovely place. The off center spires work nicely in the comp.

Beautiful shot Jorne. Looks like a wonderful day to be there! The comp is nice in that it truly brings in all the elements you need - the green grass, rocks, spires, water, and sky. What more could you want? Very nicely done.

Even out the sky and you got a winner. Love those spires and the comp works very well.

Was doing some work on the colours as suggested and went for a complete b&w, I kinda like it, what do you all think? Colour (with less magenta up top) or b&w?

The black and white is real nice along with the second colour repost. I think you could do a touch more to eliminate the colour cast up there. You have some real nice light and the spires are complimented with a very nice sky for Scotland. Cheers

I like this a lot. :toast:

But I am also distracted a little by the magenta in the sky.

Awesome looking place, I agree with the others about the sky. I also prefer the color version over the b&w.
