Same flowers as Yin but shot with a white BG and at a very slightly different angle which IMO made the bud a real problem so I cloned it away. All comments welcome. >=))>

Yin and Yang both have worked very well Bill. I think I slightly prefer the Yang, but that is a tough choice. The high key works well here. Very, very nice.

I think this is my favorite of the two Bill. I prefer the increased space in the bg and I think the high key works better with the blue. I also prefer the mood of this image. I might consider cloning out the rightmost leaf coming up from the bottom on the viewer's right - not sure.

Beautiful presentation Bill. Lovely blues against the white BG. I'd tried the white BG and could never pull off satisfying images. Either the colours did'nt stand out well or the white bled onto the edges of the flower whenever I tried. I shall try again.

I just love the blues and greens together. Love it against the white BG too. Looks like a couple of dust bunnies in the LLC though.

Would love to see a larger version of Yin, Bill. I like it.
This would make a great poster.
Cheers,

Bill, this images of blue Irises on white shocks me. They are beautiful even if I have always thought about dark light and background when I have imagined a picture of blue flowers. Splendid work.
Cheers.

I prefer the white to the black BG for this.....the blue really pops. What are you using as your background? Nice work!

Maybe even more striking than the black background with these flowers. Which I did not think was possilble. Outstanding image, Bill!!

Bill,
I don't know much about backgrounds as I don't do much portrait work of flowers, but I know it's common and certain backgrounds are even taken into the field. I do like the way they isolate the main subject from any distracting background even if OOF through shallow depth of field, I do like the white better for this flower as it really allows the deep shade of blue in the bloom to be more vibrant. The bud while nice in the dark background image was well served to be cloned out here, it was'nt a critical part of the comp, just interesting. All in all I might have to think about carrying a White card and a Dark card in the card for certain floral situations in the field.
Paul.
Might be a little difficult hauling a tree sized one around though.

Very artistic portrait. I think I prefer Yin to Yang, but both are very nice.

Beautiful, Bill. The blues and greens and yellows come through with wonderful luminance. The white background works so well and for this image, seems preferable to the black. Gorgeous work.
