Storm-damaged oak in the foothills of Simi Valley near the Hummingbird Trail. Heavy winds and rains in recent weeks have resulted in lots of downed wood.

Canon EOS 5d MkII; 0.4 sec @ f/13; 24mm; ISO 100; TS-E 24mm f/2.8LII; 2-stop ND; tripod, cable release. C & C appreciated.

Craig,
I like the comp, the detail in the tree, the colors and the reality that emerges from the scene.

Stan,

I just got the lens within the past month and am still learning to use it. It is without doubt the sharpest lens I own when I get all the adjustments right. It certainly makes me take my time in composing a shot, which will probably turn out to be a very good thing for me, in the long run. Thanks for commenting. You're right, I hadn't recognized the act of tenderness before.
