I found this deer in Colorado at Stunner Pass two summers ago.
At first I didn't notice the swollen eye, only at home while processing the photo I saw that the deer wasn't fine.

Not only swollen above & around the eye, but looks like an open wound below too..
And those flies I see can't be helping.
But they're pretty good at getting past this kind of thing hey.

Nice shot, Monica. We certainly have a very fine view of this deer. You have us all feeling sorry for it! Too bad we don't know whether or not it recovered.... :toast:

So sad to see something like this. Her expression looks painful but at least she's resting in a comfortable bed. Nice entry for a not very fun challenge week.
