Iceadelic

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Just another ice abstract from Dream Lake last month. I have a couple more to share, but I feel like I have already posted too many. Seems like I cannot narrow down the images from there and I have the feeling that I am not being selective enough. It was my first time shooting ice, so maybe I am getting all caught up in the initial excitement of the whole experience. I dunno. Love to hear your thoughts on this one.

Canon 5Dmk2, 90 mm TS-E, two shot stitch.

I like this one the best out of what you've posted here Jimmy. The opposing diagonals work really well, love the frosted glass look to this, and love the subtle blue tones. Excellent work here :toast:

All of the images in this series have been outstanding Jimmy. Each one is unique and I also have a hard time deciding which one I like best. In this image, I really like all of the small bubbles suspended in the ice and the lines created by the cracks.

Jeez-Louise, Jimmy...

These are all superb; you're setting up for quite the Fine Art exhibit.

Nice. this is my favorite one of the group. the varying tones of blue, the tiny bubbles, the cracks on the surface and deeper withing the ice are all very cool. this all works for me. Excellent job.

This is definitely my favorite of the three you've posted. The mix of shapes and lines, their varying thicknesses, the tiny bubbles and the larger circles - everything works together wonderfully. Absolutely wonderful abstract Jimmy!

I like this one best Jimmy for its complexity. The diagonal cracks and depth of blues with contrasting white areas are captivating. An outstanding ice abstract!

Another example of your very fine eye for comps with these ice abstracts. Another excellent use of line, forms, and color.

Each one has been unique and composed top notch. I'm sure glad I don't have to choose!

Of all your ice shots, I think this has the most depth. The mixture of tones and overlapping shapes makes it very special. No nits from me!

This is stunning, Jimmy, really one stunning image. Your sense of design in composing these ice images is superb, and this one truly shines. To me, there is such a three dimensional aspect to this that I find extraordinary. You can post as many of these as you want in my book. Fantastic.

When i posted my first dream lake ice shots one of my friends pointed out how 'unique' it was by posting links to similar shots taken by several other NPNers  But they are like snowflakes after all, there's something to appreciate in each one. I dont think the bright bubble here works as well as some of your other versions--i prefer this one without it, just a little too bright. But its still pretty cool!

Another fine abstract Jimmy. The texture is what really strikes me, and that wonderful color, of course. I see no weaknesses.

I really liked the one with the white spot looking like an egg a lot. But the cracks and overall image here is pretty darn good too. I understand your frustration trying to cull it down to just a couple/few!
