Stargazer Lily

Went to my local florist and picked out this lovely stargazer lily, put its feet in a snowbank and used the snow as a backdrop. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens set exposure at plus 1 in Program mode.

Comments always welcomed.

How did you find one with that many flowers in bloom at one time? If I could only be so lucky....
Perfect background, great color. Nice work!

Beautifully done Pat. Love the snow for the high key bg and the placement in the frame. This has a Japanese feel to me - I like it very much.

Just beautiful!
Great idea for the snow as a high-key BG.
Perfect DOF, colors, and position of the lily. The ones we get here also have 1-2 flowers, max.

Well Pat, you see snow does have some redeeming value. :jump:
I REALLY like this one. One of the best Lily images I've seen.

Patricia, delicate as usual, elegant as usual, beautiful as usual. The snow seems to donate to the nice flowers its splendid flare and glow.
Take care.

The colors, sharpness and b/g make this pop. What I really like is seeing the far blooms slowly spin towards the viewer to conclude with the closest one which is quite satisfying to view. Well done!
