Loon
by Harry Harris
We went on our second trip to Morro Bay this past weekend to be with family and for my wife to shoot some Elephant Seals. Last time we went up I spotted a Loon in the harbor but on two different days it was to far away to shoot. I really wanted a shot of one. This time on my first morning out, same thing, too far away. My cousin said I ought to set on this one dock in the morning and wait because the tide was going out in the morning. On Monday, our last day, I walked down to the dock, found a chair and sat down. In about 20 minutes I spotted a Loon and he came right up to the dock and it was like he was modeling for me. Different poses, different directions for lighting and even moved away because he was to close to focus (Wow). This is my wife's favorite.

3 commentsIt looks like you had a great trip up to Morro Bay. What a pose and great side lighting with full eye detail. Very nice feather detail as well Harry. Congrats on this one. Did you get your elephant seals? Hard not to, there are so many of them there. Harry, can you send me your workflow when you have time? Thanks.
