I want to take the time to thank Richard Ditch for helping me with a workflow that allows me to upload images correctly. My previous posts have all been very, very small files. Richard brought this to my attention and helped me with some processing issues that I've had in the past. Hopefully this post is closer to the maximum allowable sizes than my previous posts have been. Thank you very much Richard. Let's hope this works!
Any comments, critiques or suggestions are always appreciated. Please see larger version. Thanks for looking.

Yikes that's good... perfect detail and exposure and a great pose... I just wish the head was turned slightly different so you could see the face a bit better. I'll be posting a Harrier shot later but I don't think it compares to this.

David, you drilled another one. You know how I like flight shots with the back of the raptor presented. Love it. Just a thought, you might try and bring in the right side and extend the bottom because that is the way the bird is looking.

Nice flight shot David, and a different kind of Harrier flight shot than I'm accustomed to seeing. I'm curious how much of a crop this is, I like the pose, sharpness and background. My only nit is (and it's not a biggie ) the white of it's rump appears to be pretty hot. I can see how getting this exposure just right while showing the white would be tricky much like a bald eagle. :toast:

I like the pose and the bg. A little work on the whites on the tail and maybe sharpening up that eye a bit would make this perfect. Sharon

David, nice colors and detial on tis one. I also wish a different HA was there, but not much you can do about that. I am not sure about the crop....I would have to see them side by side, but maybe a vertical would look nice on this?

Very good, although I also might give a vertical crop a try.

David,

Great pose and background, the head angle doesn't bother me as most of the time harriers are looking at the ground for their prey. Thi whites of the rump are hot and if you shot this in RAW you may be able to bring those down. I wouldn't expect to see much detail there because of the nature of the close knit rump feathers but it might help to bring them down.

That's a very good flight shot, David. Nice detail in the back and wings. The head turn is exactly what Harriers do; it doesn't bother me at all. The white butt band is quite hot, though. As Mia suggests, if you have the image in RAW you might try to re-process to recover some detail. When photographing male harriers in bright light, I've found I have to drop a 1ev to avoid blowing that white band.
