Sandscape

Took this photo in Big Bay, NZ. To get there you have to walk 4 days or fly and land on the sandy beach. Quite a remote spot. The wind was blowing and these sand dunes had amazing patterns. I've got quite a few different ones from that day.

Canon XTI
Sigma 10-20mm @ 17mm
f/8
1/40
polarizer

Any comments and suggestions highly appreciated.

The angled light really brought out the wild patterns.

Nice image and I like the concentration on just the ripples. So, did you walk or fly?

Fantastic patterns and textures Beatriz but I notice a slight green cast on my calibrated monitor. This would make a wonderful B&W IMO.

Really like the abstract quality of this and the subtle waviness in the sand.

I love the subtle rhythm in this photograph. You brought order to disorder. Well done!

The lines and shadows are very nice but I'm unsure of the interuption of the continuity at LLC and URC. However that's just nit-picking, this is a great image.Well done. :toast: :toast:

Thank you all for the comments!! I will try a B&W version of this, see how it goes.
Bruce I TOTALLY agree with you. That was one of my main concerns, but if I remember it right there was some disturbing object just there which couldn't be removed and I am not big on cloning so I decided to take the risk.
Tom, I walked in (AMAZING hike if you ever come to NZ) and flew out. It's possible to walk out a different way, making it a loop, but it takes up other 4 days with mud up to your neck and I didn't have the time/will to do so...hehe...

This is really cool Beatriz. I like the lines and textures you captured in this image. I almost feel like I'm underwater looking at the patterns created by the action of the waves. This is an effect I really like. Well done.

Here is the B&W version you'd asked. Looks kinda funky  I think I like the color version better...
