Been shooting at Ft DeSoto alot and finally got a day with this guy around. The colors and plumage are amazing this time of year. For this shot the light wasn't the best but he flew over to me and in seconds caugh a huge fish. I got those shots too. Anyway did the best I could in PS for "fill Light" since I really like the shot. Is it passable? Your comments and critique greatly appreciated.

Nice catch! The action in running thru the water is super.
Not a lot of detail in the under-wing area, but the sharp head makes up for it for me - the feathers and color here are really great.
Nice comp too - and the water drops are a big plus.
I'd sure love this one if it were mine!

Cheryl,
You are right about the colors. Fantastic. You have good fill light under the wing and I like the back light shining throught the feathers tips. Wing position is good. Don't you just love how these guys run around all crazy like trying to catch a fish? Very Animated bird. I would have stuck around to wait for this guy as well. Are you going to post the fish catch?? Woiud really like to see that one Cheryl. :toast:

Very passable to me. Well caught! I like the action and the water drops. I don't see any noise in the shaded wing from the fill light, which is my usual result from pushing the fill light too far. There is obviously some loss of detail there, but a fine image, nevertheless. :toast:

Like the action captured, pose, detail and exposure. I don't recall ever seeing a photo with this color on the beak. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful pose & a great POV Cheryl, you've stopped the action nicely.
Don't know what your shooting stats R but you've pulled it of very well IMO.
Even with the lights direction less than optimal..You pass
Well done! :toast:
