Canon 1D Mark 4 With EF 500mm f4 & 1.4 tc
1/500 sec, F 6.3, ISO 640

Got a tip about 3 pairs of Red Headed Ducks from a friend. Well I went to the location and much to my surprise the ducks swam right at me. No bread or bait used to gather a nice group of Red Headed Duck shots. After a truly brutal week in "Corporate America" it was nice to ground my self with something as enjoyable as nature.

Thank you for looking and commenting!

Hey, they're looking for a hand out man. I might've considered a small reward after the shoot anyway :)
Tack sharp and the direct eye contact is great Michael..Looks like light overcast conditions, the exposure is excellent too.
Everything looks very nice, well done! :toast:

Nice reward - However, I think the reward should be a little more balanced - like 3 days in the "world" and 4 days shooting..
Excellent image, mike - very sharp, good pose and bright eye, and non-obtrusive water.
Let's see some more of these guys!

Nice portrait of this pretty species- excellent details on larger version, with awesome eye- Maybe with the bright reflections of the water, I'd try to darken a bit the subject, keeping a good amount of contrast to enhance the beautiful texture of the grey feathers- Well done, Fabio

Nice that the Red Headed swam over to soothe your difficult week Mike!

I think you exposed well for the conditions you encountered, and the detail is suburb, especially in the larger version.

Incredible detail and love the colors in this Michael! I don't have a single shot of this species and it has always been one of my favorite ducks. Congrats!
