This image was taken last september above Grindelwald. This little pond is called “Chlosterseeli”.
The late evening sun made the rocks glow golden.I had some nice condition on that day. It was a bit hazy, though

Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm
1/6 sec, f13, iso 200 & ND Grad 0.9

Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

This is a beautiful scene, Bill. The clarity of this is really nice along with the light. I love the colors and the great reflection. The large view is just wonderful to look at. I like this the way it is, but I think I like it even better with some of the left side cropped off. Maybe about 4x5 ratio (just a thought). Beautiful as it is. :toast:

The large version is very nice. I really like the way curve of the water creates the composition.

A grand scene! I love the golden light. I thought the shadow area in the middle-left might be too dark. But it is not a problem from the looks of the larger version.

Bill, the clearness of this scene is fascinating, I just feel like breathing the air. Exposure and processing are excellent for me.

Regarding the composition, the image is too heavily weighted on the left side in my opinion. I understand the snow-covered peak in the background as the main center of interest, but my attention is distracted by this overwhelming golden glow. Cropping maybe a quarter from the top and a fifth from the left could alleviate this effect.

Anyway, I feel like standing in the middle of the scene!

Bill,

The light is beautiful. I' dliketo suugest a crop from the left for two reasons. First, the largeness of the wall on the left takes interest from the nice reflection and the nicely lit mountains. Second, the deep shadow areas draw my eye from what I believe is the main subject; the mountains and the tarn.

It looks like fabulous country.

What a beautiful pond, Bill! I love the snowy peak in the distance, and just wish the warmly lit foreground cliff didn't dominate the image so much.

Lovely scene, Bill Could see maybe trying to bring a little more detail out of the shadows.

Truly lovely lighting. The warmth off the cliffs contrasts nicely with the blue water and the snow covered peaks in the distance.
