The mom looking back at the chick is a nice plus here. Endearing image. I think a little more contrast on the chick might make it more pronounced, though.

I like this, Antino. The glance that the mother is giving the chick shows what her job is. A little bit more head turn would be nice, but this is excellent as is.

Nice Antino. The difficult exposure looks good but the caring and concerned look of the parent toward the vulnerable chick is really the driving force of the image for me.

The adult avocet looking back to see how her little one is doing makes this image special Antino. I agree if she had turned her head even more it would have put it over the top.
