Red-winged Blackbird from San Bernard NWR. This is a simple portrait of a common bird, but I love the soft colorful BG and the simple perch.

could not ask for a cleaner BG palette. Solid detail while keeping the reds from being blown

One of the nicest rwbb images I've seen. I like it for the same reasons you do. Sharon

Really nice detail in the blacks, a nice pose, and very complimentary BG.

Nice detail you have here in the blacks. Beautiful view on the red on the wing. So frequently it is tucked in and difficult to appreciate. Soft muted tones in the background are nice.

Hi Randy,

Forst time I've ever seen this beautiful species of Blackbird, and what an exquisitely exposed, detailed and wonderfully colourful image you've captured of it, extremely well done :^)

Cheers!

A difficult bird in terms of getting exposure detail, but you did an excellent job, Randy.

Just awesome light, Randy. Great detail in the blacks. These guys are tough to get nice detail in the blacks and the wing colors and you have done a superb job. I would be tempted to crop a bit off the top, but that is a personal preference. Awesome image as posted.
