Morning by the lake

This photo was taken last winter on cold winter morning by the lake Mälaren near Stockholm, Sweden. The sun was raising behing the trees and turned the sky in a beautiful red color. Done a great deal of post-processing on this to get details in the shadow areas and to remove cromatic abb. Canon EOS 5D and 17-40L@17mm

Hi Anders, I can't believe I am the 57th viewer and there hasn't been any comments yet. This is beautiful. I may not be very knowledgeable in post processing but I like what I see!

A lovely scene, and well-composed. Your processing labors paid off -- this looks perfect, right down to the glow on the foreground snow in the dim light of sunrise.

It's amazing that this is such a gentle scene considering the red clouds. Your processing efforts have paid of very well. You might lighten ever so slightly the dark tree on the mid-ground slope, they look somewhat blocked up on my monitor.

Even with the ice and snow the warm colors in the sky, which are reflected in the snow, gives some nice warmth to this image. My only though here would be to maybe lighten and bring out more texture in the background trees.

Anders,

I really enjoy your excellent composition--how the foliage, rock face, and forest lead the eye into and throughout the scene. The small details and color make this a fantastic image. I am seeing some interesting detail in/on the ice in the bottom third/right side of the image that looks like a crack or some large tracks--not sure...but that detail reflects the larger "S" curve of the foliage, rock, and forest on the left. Well Done!

Thanks everybody, I´m glad you like it...
Chrisie, those are actually tracks from an animal. It never occured to me that they reflect the shape of the land, I just thought of them as a little extra detail in the image. But you are absolutely correct, thanks!

Hello Anders
The comp works well, and the sky is gorgeous. I'm not overly enthusiastic with the processing, but don't know what to suggest. I have a really hard time processing scenes like this. My tendency is, as you have done, to brighten the fg, but then it often doesn't look right and looks unrealistic and 'overprocessed'. I am feeling that sentiment on this image.
