Another take on the surise one morning not too long ago in RMNP. The gold color had diminished by the time I put on the telephoto, but the strong light still made for nice contrast with the mountains behind.

Cropped to square to eliminate uneeded sky.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Lovely light on the aspens makes great contrast with the squall moving down the valley. The square format works well.

Morris:
Nice contrast between the warm light on the trees and the cooler darker bg. Love the mood in the image.

What great light and a beautiful composition Morris. I love how the BG mountains kind of just fade away.

This is nice too, Morris. Could see burning down the fore ground snow just a bit to better frame the glowing trees.

Morris,

I love the light. You have good tecxture in the FG snow, and the comp is nicely balaned. The square crop works well, here. I like contrast between the warm trees and the cool BG.

Fantastic, Morris. Those trees seem like they are on fire with that gorgeous light. Really like the square format, and your superb composition. Beautiful, beautiful image.

Morris, the georgeous glow is beautifully contrasted to the dark and misty background, that makes an appealing suspense! The seldom used square formate contributes a lot to the impact of this scene.

I think this is much better than the last one, theres much better balance with the fg and bg here--here its clear that the fg is the strong subject and the bg sets the mood/acts as a supporting player. No yellow snow either

Nice catching contrast between the golden light on the aspens and the blue, foggy mountain top.

Man, this telephoto view really does it for me. It makes the background more dramatic without competing too much with the glowing trees, at least in a confusing way. By that, I mean that the trees attract my attention, but then I am drawn into the mystery of the mountains, sort of like being lifted there in my imagination, and that's OK with me.

I like the square crop, and the golds and blues work really nicely together.

Hi Morris - I have always thought about taking a photo of the trees in this area, but have never stopped to do so. Your image has inspired me to try the next time I am in the area. The golden light really makes this image. I like the square crop, too.
