Moody Rundle

Thought I would share this recent shot of Mt Rundle in Banff National Park. I know this place is photographed to death, so it's always a challenge to come up with something a little different. This was inspired by one of Chip's shots of this location.

Nice work Wayne!
The color, contrasts, and mood is spectacular. I sorta wish you would have gotten a little lower with the camera, but just a minor nit. I'm bettin' that your feet were standing on some "crackin'" ice... (looks cold ;~} )

Very nice, moody image, Wayne. I particularly like the sky, which I think adds a lot to the shot. It's probably the curve in the shoreline, but the horizon look tilted a bit CW--no biggie, though. I like the patterns in the foreground ice.

Well composed Moody, I like the little vignetting on top corners that make the sky interesting..
The snow scape and vegetation in the foreground is well placed...did you do a vertical of this scene ?..

Love the moody feel of this image, the contrast and colours work great as does the compostion, I would not mind seeing a larger version of this :wavey:

Very well done, Wayne. I would agree with Preston about it feeling a little tilted, but that is minor. The blues work very well here and I like the icy shoreline.

I like the muted tones and how you left it a little dark, it makes for some great atmosphere.

The advantage of not being a North American is that I rarely see these shots (except of course on NPN) I think it really looks good Wayne. I feel cold looking at it. I really like the detail in the foreground and the somber moody sky.

The icey blue tones suit the image perfectly Wayne. Terrific shot.

This is a beautiful shot, Wayne. A vertical of this composition would also work, of course, but the nice thing about your choice is that we can enjoy the nice snowy peaks and cloud motion to the left of Rundle.

This is great - your composition and processing are just excellent here. Definitely one of the better views from this iconic location IMO! I love the mood and the dark sky, the streaking clouds, and the way the ice wraps into the FG.

Hi Wayne - I really love this image. The ice and plants in the foreground add a lot of interest and the colors convey a perfect wintery mood.
