Great squirrel image. The detail, dof, background and the little stump it is on are great. The moss and the cones add to the overall feeling of the image.

Hi Phil,

Very nice colour and setting and your subject is nicely isolated from the background. Nice detail and exposure as well. In a perfect world I'd wish for more depth of field in the foreground to render the cones and moss sharper, but I recognize that stopping down would have impacted the cleanliness/smoothness of the background as well (one of those tricky compromise situations). I like that the full tail is included in the composition, but (another compromise!) I'm left wishing for just a little more room on the right side of the image (and I'm assuming that the inclusion of the tail dictated the positioning of the squirrrel in the frame). No idea if you have more room on the right side to add, but if you did I'd experiment with adding a little, even if it results in a slightly more pano crop.

But overall a very nice, eye-catching shot (and please recognize that my nits are very minor and mostly personal preference issues).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

Brad

Wonderful pose on the stump and I like the overall color scheme. Nice detail on the larger image, way to go.

Nice detail of this squirrel. I agree with Brad, more detail in the foreground and more room on the right, if posible, would improve the image. I recommend seeing the large version. Nice shot.

Spectacular. I love the mossy setting and beautiful background. A little bit more room for the tail would be my only wish. Quite the bushy tail on this good looking fella.

What a tail! I really like that pile of cones. It's like his lunch table
